Is anyone else using a chiropractor for anything?

I suffer from ridiculous migraines, and have seen a chiro for the last year or so because of them. I also get adjusted because of a car accident from 1999 that kind of messed up my spine alignment. Every time I go, I get nervous when I lay on my stomach and they do some of the adjusting. She doesn't push down very hard, usually in baby area there isn't anything done -- usually its near my tailbone and my shoulders, and then she adjusts my neck for my migraines.

Does anyone else use a chiro? And does anyone else have this fear, or am I being irrational (which, is more than likely whats happening as I tend to do that. They even have brochures at the chiro that talks about how labor is easier for those pregnant women who have seen a chiro.)

  • I have back and neck pain, and was never sure about chiropractors. I started seeing one during my last pregnancy, and I couldn't have gotten through it without him. He was like DH x2. I haven't been since having DS, but am going to start going again next week. My chiro is super holistic, and said it's really safe. There is a lot he wouldn't do, and always asked me to clear things with my doctor first. But my back never felt better.

  • Have you told her that you're pregnant? I would think that if you had she wouldn't do anything unsafe for you or baby.  To put yourself at ease, you might want to ask your doctor about it too.

Yah ... she knew the first appointment after I found out. I think I just get nervous with the threat of m/c still happening .... I think I'm just overthinking and overanalyzing.

Welcome to the club! I check for spotting every single time I wipe.  C'mon 2nd tri and take some of our crazy away!

Omg. I do this. Every single time. And sometimes, I go check even when I don't have to pee.

  • When I was pregnant with DS I got into a horrible car accident at 20 weeks. I had to see a chiropractor the remaining pregnancy just to be able to walk. Let them know you are pregnant and as you get bigger they will adjust in different positions. There's nothing to worry about because they can drop the leaf under your tummy so there's no pressure there. They know how to work with pregnant women as long as you let them know.

  • There are table where they can have an opening for your belly....maybe check if they have one of these?  Otherwise, as long as they know you are pregnant, you should be fine.
