Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Question about clothing...help

Due to give birth soon to my second daughter.   Unfortunately, there are not a lot of zip up sleepers for sale.  I've bought some newborn separates--tops + bottoms.  What seems nice about separates is that you can pull down the pants halfway to change diaper, but wearing socks is then a necessity.

Should I return the separates + keep on searching for more zip up sleepers?  I hate the button down snap sleepers, too difficult with a squirming baby.

Where can I order the zip up sleepers online???

THANKS!!

Re: Question about clothing...help

  • My favorite zip up sleepers are without a doubt Childrens Place, they have elastic around the ankle to keep the foot on their foot, which I LOVE. I only have a couple that I picked up at Goodwill, b/c I won't pay full price for anything.

Have you looked at Once Upon a Child or other larger consignment store? Usually you can find a ton at those places.

  • All of my Carters and Gerber brand sleepers are zip up. The Gerber ones are either from Target or Walmart, and Carters can be purchased a lot of places - BRU, Carters, Target...

  • The good thing about the snap up sleepers - you don't have to completely undo the sleeper to change a diaper.

I really liked the Just One You sleep and plays from Target

The Gerber brand runs small, is thinner, and the zipper wasn't as smooth as the JOY brand.

We also bought quite a few Okie Dokie sleepers from Jcp.

ETA:  E lived in sleepers his first few months.  I returned everything else.  It was so much easier to change his diapers, plus I didn't have to worry about pulling a shirt over his head or losing his socks.

  • I ordered the zip up sleepers from Target and Babies R Us.  Have you also looked into the gowns that have the elastic on the bottom?  I have been using those a lot and my LO loves them.  I bought most of mine at Target and also found them at Kohls.

  • Personally I prefer the two pieces given that LO sometimes has "blow-outs" then I only have to change the pants which gives me less laundry.  I only use snap sleepers because I don't have to undo all the snaps to change baby and when I used the zipper with DD, I caught her skin once and never used them again.  I have to admit that I did prefer the zip sleepers at Children's Place though.  I found them a little roomier.

  • I love sleepers but I love the gowns with elastic bottoms evens more. All You have to do is pull up change and go. My LO lives in these especially at night.
