any loves/ hates / info that helped you decide? I'm trying to get used to the minivan idea cuz I love my highlander, but don't think it's reasonable w/ 3 in carseats...
I have not driven or owned an Odyssey, but we went from a Cadillac SRX to a Toyota Sienna (expecting baby #3 around Christmas and in the same situation as you) and I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE our Sienna. I love the automatic doors and the dvd player and my kids being able to walk comfortably to their seats instead of crawling over each other, etc. I loved having a luxury suv, but the practicality of a minivan has trumped everything now. I'll get my luxury car again someday

They are super similar. I would suggest going and test driving each one. If you are buying used, see if you can find the specifics you want. We got an Odyssey 1 1/2 yrs ago, but test drove both. I liked driving the Odyssey better, and we both felt the backseat was more comfortable as an adult in it. But we also were buying used and knew we wanted certain upgrades that we were having a really hard time finding in the Sienna, but for the Odysssey all come with the touring package.
Also, if you need AWD the Sienna offers that but Odyssey doesn't.

These are great to hear, thanks! and ahhhhh yes, saying goodbye to a car I thought had way too many bells and whistles but quickly got used to them is going to be hard! but I'll get over it I'm sure.

and I'm from north of Seattle too! so yes AWD is pretty helpful heard the front wheel drives are pretty good too though
We looked at both but ended up getting a new 2010 T&C limited this past April. We got an awesome deal on it and it has all the features I wanted so it just made more sense for us. Before getting the T&C we came really close to ordering a new Ody touring elite. I preferred it over the Sienna as it seems to have tighter steering, though the Sienna has a more cushy suspension. The captains chairs in the sienna are pretty nice however, and it does come in AWD.
I'm happy with my T&C, but I think I'd be just as pleased in any fully loaded minivan. I do wish my van had the loveseat configuration thing that the pre 2011 Odys had. I couldn't find a used one reasonably priced, so we stopped looking at used models. .
I love, love, love the power sliding doors & rear hatch, the backup camera and the blind spot notification thing. Getting in/out of the the car with kids is so much easier now. Plus we have the space we need for extended rear-facing.
We are waiting to finish a re-fi before we purchase the Sienna. I test drove both and liked the Sienna much more. I didn't feel like I was driving a van. The big issue for me is the road noise in the Hondas. It seems to be in all of their cars, I've owned a few, and it has really gotten on my nerves lately. The Sienna seemed much smoother. My mechanic who only works on foreign cars, our family has used for 30+ years, and is highly recommended said that you can't go wrong with either the Honda or Toyota. It really depends on what you like when you test drive.
