Different (maybe) Sex after C/S Post

My six week post c/s date is October 28.  I already had my two week incision check, and I am having zero problems with recovery.  I feel 100% back to normal.

Because I am home until Jan and because my OB is swamped, she asked if I could wait a little bit for my 6 week check.  I go back on November 23.

I have been on pelvic rest since conception, so we have not had sex since December 30, 2010!!!  And to be honest, DH didn't get much else during that time.  I was totally OK with the pelvic rest during pg...I had no interest. However, now that I am feeling so good, I am ready for the 6 week mark to get here.

Would you wait the additional 3.5 weeks for the OB appt, or give things a shot after 6 weeks?  I hate to call my OB with such a silly question, but I will if need be.  TIA!

    Give it a shot! Use lots of lube, LOL! My "6 week" appointment isn't until about 9 weeks post-partum and we've already done the deed a few times. I say go for it!

    Go for it. We broke the 6 week rule and it was fine. I'd say if you feel healthy and like everything is healing then you are probably good to go.

    My OB had an 8 wk policy, but I'd say go for it! Good for you for feeling up to it! I'd say to just wait the whole 6 weeks so your uterus can heal properly- you wouldn't want an infection. I second lots of lube too- things are different down there, especially if you breastfeed.

    The only thing to worry about imo is infection.  C/s or not if you aren't closed properly you could risk an infection with putting something in your vagina.  However, most women should be healed within 6 weeks whether you've seen the dr or not.  I guess if I were feeling up to it and I had waited the full 6 weeks I would try it - very slowly and very carefully.  I'm not seeing that happening for me tho as sore as I am!

    okay so 2 things. 1. I'd wait until the 6 week check. I have read that if you have sex before being fully healed you can end up with an infection that can cause future infertility. 2. sex after a c-section HURTS! I am 9 weeks PP and it STILL hurts. I'd say you're not missing much but a lot of pain right now, so it's def. not worth the risk. DH and I used 'toys' and other did other things to satisfy each other. I hope that's not TMI.

    I would wait to make sure you've healed properly.  FWIW, I haven't had any issues with pain, however.

    and be sure to take precautions! You are super fertile pp.  My OB told me not to let my hubby even think about having sex with me before I was back on some form of bc.  Well if you don't want to get preggo right way...if you do then go for it!

    I think we went at it after 3 weeks or so. I was never in labor, so I felt great down there. I stayed on my side and had no problems with incision pain. I think that post c-section sex is some of the best I've ever had! haha!
