question about the Ex being illegal and CS??

Hey ladies,

Quick question. Does anyone know what happens if your childrens father is an illegal alien in the US? How would I file child support? Will he be held reponsible? How do they base your payments if he has no SSN? (he works but not legally) I so hate to put that out there but, I figured somebody here would know. I am usually a lurker but I did post my backround story in below post!

    Were you married to the father of your children?

    Do you have bank records that show his income during the time you were together?  

    I would consult a Family Law attorney to determine what the laws of your state are with regards to calculating CS in this situation.

    I don't know what the laws are in Ohio, but legal status doesn't matter in California. If he claims not to be working or doesn't have SSN they will still look for him and try to enforce child support. Go open a file with your child support agency and give as much info on the BD as you can....
