Amuse me ladies
ER is on Monday. I told my boss that I'll be taking the week (as I do bed rest for 3dp 3dt). My first retrieval was ROUGH and I needed the time off between the ER and ET to recover. I also had no sedation - crappy morphine only. This time I'll have fentynal (sp?) or twilight sedation.
So, what type of sedation did you have and how long was your recovery ie when did you go back to work?
Re: IVF Poll: Recovery from ER
What the heck - that's amazing. I could barely walk right up until my ET!
I'm not sure what kind of sedation I had, but it was through an IV and it took immediate effect and I can't remember anything other than waking up in the recovery area. It was good stuff!!
For 2 of my 3 egg retrievals, I've gone back to work the following day. For one, I had some complications and had to spend two days in the hospital then another two days at home.
2 chem preg, 4 failed IUIs, 2 canc IVFs, 2 BFN IVFs, IVF #5 = BFP!!!
3/23 Beta #1 @ 17dpo = 913, Beta #2 @ 19dpo = 1724, Beta #3 @ 21 dpo = 3240
First u/s 3/29 @ 5 weeks 2 days - 3 sacs 6 weeks 3 days - 3 heartbeats 8 Weeks - Lost Baby C, Babies A and B going strong
I also got twilight sedation and was able to go back to work the next day. For IVF #1, we went out to dinner and to see Avenue Q and wound up being up all night in the ER for DH. I accused him of stealing my thunder. I managed to rest for the other two but wasn't too crampy. I didn't need anything other than extra strength tylenol.
Sorry your first one was such a rough time. Hopefully this will be easier.
I had Twilight sedatiation I was a little uncomfortable during the procedure but don't really remember it. I didn't do anything for the rest of the day just slept on the couch off and on all day.
I was able to go back to work the next day, but I sit at a desk for most of the time so I'm not very active. My mid section was sore for about 3 days after the ER. It even hurt to sneeze, cough and laugh. I'm doing much better now.
I also rested on ETday and was able to go to work the next day. I have no pain associated with the ET. Just bloating and pain from the PIO shots.
