Pregnant after a Loss

Nausea relief????

What did you ladies do?  My doctor said to try Vitamin B6 is large doses, so DH is going out to grab some right now.  I've tried crackers, peppermint tea, ginger ale....nothing helps :(

Re: Nausea relief????

  • I'm having a terrible time with it today myself, the only thing that finally made me feel a little better was eating pickles.  Don't know why, salty foods just seem to take the edge off at least for a little while!  (I'm so the PG women cliche I know! LOL)

  • Loading the player...
  • fresh lemon wedges, lemon hard candy, sour apple jolly ranchers, sour lemonade, freezing yellow gatorade into ice cube trays and sucking on it....All things I tried that helped.

  • Fruit/fruit smoothies, Jolly Ranchers, Sea Bands, and eventually Zofran.  Make sure to have your fiber supplements going for a few days before starting Zofran because constipation is worse than nausea (to me anyway).  Also, I know they tell you not to get too hungry because it makes it worse...for me, the only way I could force myself to eat is if I was super hungry.  Other wise I couldn't tell the hunger from the nausea, and I wouldn't be able to eat... I know, it makes no sense, but it worked for me.

  • Sorry, not much helps. I had crumpets with a little butter, or slowly nibbling on salty foods. Even just dipped my finger into some salt sometimes which helped. Sucking on ice cubes.

  • I have had success with B6 (taking 30 mg twice per day, with magnesium to help absorption).  I still feeling kind of low-level crappy and have food aversions, but without the nausea or urge to vomit.

  • B6 helped me a lot.  I was actually able to eat a whole meal at dinners.  Hoping it works for you too!!

  • Nothing worked long term for me, including a number of prescriptions given to me by my doctor.  I pretty much made sure I stay hydrated and rode it out.  One thing that eased things a bit, which seemed weird when I first heard it was cutting a fresh lemon.  I would keep it in a tupperware container in the fridge and smell them which helped.  Once in awhile it helped to suck on a lemon wedge, but the smell alone was helpful a bit.  I hope you find something that works.

  • As weird as this sounds- smelling a lemon cut open or a aromatherapy lemon oil.  It is actually helping me out.  Also.. acupuncture.  I haven't tried it yet but going to soon.  My chiropractor knows pressure points that relieve m/s.  Good luck!

  • I suck on wintergreen lifesavers whenever I START to feel nauseous (I always have them with me) they work great.
