  Almost the exact same thing happened in my family.  My aunt and uncle were told they could never have children so they adopted a baby boy, then a girl a few years later.  My aunt surprisingly got pregnant and they were so excited because they thought it was impossible.   She found out she had cancer 4 months into her pregnancy and had to chose between cancer treatments and baby.  She of course chose baby, gave birth, and passed away from the cancer when my cousin was 6 months old.  I never knew her, as I am the same age as my cousin, but I know it was really hard for the girls growing up without their mother.
