choroid plexus cyst update

Hey ladies, I posted a little while ago about receiving news this week that the doctor was reviewing my 20-week US from about 5 weeks ago and found a choroid plexus cyst on the baby's brain. They told me it was common, not to worry, but that they just needed to monitor it.

So, of course I freaked out and you guys were helpful in calming me down. : )

Anyways, we had the US yesterday morning, and the US tech said it looked like there was no longer a cyst. She didn't even bring up the issue of trisonomy 18, curiously enough, or anything else except wanting to see if the cyst was dissolving as they normally do, naturally. I did ask about the chromosomal issues and she says not to lose any sleep over that.

Anyways, she said the baby looked fine and was still right on track. She said the doctor will review the sonogram and let us know how it went, but everything looked good.

So, big relief!!!! : ) If any of you guys get this "diagnosis," don't freak out ! Hopefully the doctor can confirm the US tech's conclusions soon.

Thanks for reading!

  • Thanks for posting. :) That's the resolution I'm hoping for on Tuesday for a recheck u/s. I find myself getting kind of worked up about the whole thing so this gives me hope. :)

  • :)!

Had the same thing and got the same results a week later. They should stop scaring us with this stuff- it seems like it's very common.

I know, right? I'm really glad US's are so accurate and doctors do their due diligence, but sometimes ignorance IS bliss... ; )
