:le sigh: we moved cross-country and we're not close to any family or friends. I'm kinda bummed I won't get to "party"... and kinda bummed DH can't plan a surprise party for me (haha). My bday is between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
eh, shouldn't be a big deal, really... guess we put a lot emphasis on "milesone" birthdays. I'll just have to party it up with DH and DS!
Re: What did you do for your 40th?
We left DS w/ my parents and went to NYC for a 3 day weekend.
We were totally content to go if it were just the 2 of us, but we picked NYC because it's in driving distance and in January, we were able to find a hotel at a decent price. We were HOPING a couple people might decide to join us.
In the end, there were 11 of us total, and it was a blast.

I didn't do anything particularly special. So few people believe me when I tell them my age, that I kind of like keeping it on the DL.
Some close friends went out to dinner with DH and me, and DH and I saw a movie earlier in the day.

I had morning sickness which I thought was an ulcer.
I turned 40 the last weekend before I returned from maternity leave. I was still so tired, we just went to dinner with family. DH is horrible at planning anything so that was the best he could come up with.
I have informed him that the 50th WILL be something special.
