Me and dh aren't too big into wine, but we'd really like to have a few certain types to enjoy... Is there any good sweet/desert wines/champagne you would recommend? Something preferably not too spendy, but still yummy TIA!
Dessert wine is my thing, I always make sure to hit up the wineries in Napa that are known for theirs! One of my favorites is Robert Mondavi's Moscato d'Oro. I LOVE this wine, it's so good and sweet!
Another one I love is Grgich Hills gewurztraminer. Both this and the RM you can find at many wine stores.
Then there's Castello di Amorosa's Fantasia. Even DH loved this one, and he's not into dessert wines like me. This one you can only buy at the winery or on their site, they don't stock their products in stores.
Even if red wine is not your speed, give our M?nage ? Trois Red a try. This wine exposes the fresh, ripe, jam-like fruit that is the calling card of California wine. Three saucy grapes make up the blend. Zinfandel adds a juicy character, Merlot mellows and Cabernet adds backbone. Forward, spicy and soft, this delicious dalliance makes the perfect trio.
Anyways...its a red wine that is so yummy and cheap! I love it!

Depending on where you live there might be a local wine you want to try. Maybe check out a local winery. Here in Ohio the 3 sweet wines that are popular are Pink Catawba, Haute Sauterne, and Ice Wine. All are way too sweet for me, I like dry reds, but my mom LOVES Ice Wine, as do many many other people. Its a sipping dessert wine. Its made after the grapes have frozen once on the vine.
I highly suggest going to a GOOD wine store and talking with the sales person. They should be very knowledgeable about every type they have to sell in store and are always willing to work with you on price and taste. A $10 bottle can taste better than a $40 bottle depending on the year and winery.
