If you have a double stroller...

Do you use it when you only have one kiddo with you...? I am sick of having both the single and double stroller in my trunk, but the idea of using the double with just DD in it makes me feel silly...like people will stop and say "what happened to the other one?"

Re: If you have a double stroller...

  • We keep only the double in the van.  Yes, there have been times when I have used it with one kiddo.  Most often actually, I take the stroller in somewhere and within 10 minutes, one kid is walking and I am carrying the other one and pushing the huge double stroller.  About the time I decide that maybe we can kick oldest DD out of the stroller and use the single, she will decide that she is too tired to walk and I don't feel like having that fight yet.

  • I have the sit n stand deluxe which is like a cadillac carriage. I have used it with just the baby in it but it looks silly. I have the single one for short trips with the baby but if I am going out for the day I will bring the double in case DD#1 gets tired.

  • Unless we are going to be out for a long time, I take a single and my ergo.  DD will ride in the single to the place, like the doctor, library, or park, and DS in the Ergo, then she gets out and walks and DS goes in the stroller.  I am a master with the ergo and use it all the time in place of the stroller, unless I have a lot of things I need to carry.  I had a phil and ted in the car until DD was 4.5, so it could b a double, if I needed it to be, but I seldom used the jump seat.
  • I sure do. We don't use the single stroller anymore. We have the Baby Jogger City Select though and can remove DS's seat if I just have DD with me, or vice versa.

  • We have a sit-n-stand and I've definitely used it with only 1 child.

  • Yeah, but I can take the second seat off.
  • I have the Britax B-ready. It can be a double or a single with just a click. We just leave the 2nd seat in the trunk for when we need it (like at the zoo, etc). I love it. I bought it for the exact reason that I didn't want to be stuck with a double at all times.

  • Yup, we use it with just one kid. The second seat is good for holding bags.
