How do you clean tongue?

My little one has formula build up on the back of his tongue.  The only time i see it if LO sticks his tongue out, but im wondering how i clean it?  I feel silly asking this.  I know a lot of  you will say it's thrush, Iwhich i'm sure it's not it's only on the very back of his tongue. Plus i was at the doctors last week. Any advice?

    My lo had it only on the back of her tongue and the doc said it was thrush. How you can tell is if it  can be scraped off. If not and its always there then its thrush.

    Anyways.. i just get a wet baby wash cloth and wrap it around my finger and wipe.. Its not easy. Babies do not like it. lol
