Have any of you gone in the store to return/exchange things at BRU?! I have my husbands Tahoe loaded full of things that I either would like to return or exchange for other things and I am just wondering how easy or how difficult this whole process is going to be? Will they give me cash back or only store credits for the items. I got a lot of things on my registry that my SIL already had so I really have no need for them now! Thanks!

NO store will give you a cash refund without a receipt. That would be silly of them. From my experience, BRU will give you a store credit or allow you to exchange items that are in their system.

Their policy says that a refund will be given the same way it was purchased. Im assuming that's if you have the receipt. Im guessing if you dont have it, it will be store credit.

If you have a full receipt, then refund in the form of payment method.

If you have a gift receipt (or just baby registry info), then store credit.

Oh yea- I forgot to mention I do have some gift reciepts. Just not all. I just know how some stores such as Target with argue with you over EVERY little thing you try to exchange or get credit for and then stores such as Bed Bath Beyond make everything so easy. Didn't know which category BRU fell into.

BRU returns have been super-duper easy for me. They've taken registry items back with and without gift receipts, and they've taken a few items back that weren't on my registry and didn't have receipts. I'm not even sure some of those items were actually purchased at BRU. I got a gift card and just keep adding to it every time I go back with another return.

They will give you cash or refund your credit card if you have the actual register receipt (the one with the payment form on it, not the gift receipt) along with the card you used to purchase the item, if you used a card.

They give only store credit for items with gift receipts and without receipts at all.

Walmart will. I got some geranimals stuff that I didn't have a receipt for and they gave me cash,

I think you got lucky. I've taken lots of things back to Walmart with receipts and they've always given only store credit.

I think at Walmart they will give you cash back without a receipt only if the item is under a certain threshold value. That threshold may be different for different stores.

For example, if you return something for $1.50, they will more likely just give you the cash back, rather than issue you a store credit.

When I registered at BRU the associate told me if something isn't on the registry then I should go online and add it to my registry. They will return no hassle if it is on the registry. So you might need to do that if the items are not on there.

Also bed, bath and beyond returned all the wedding stuff for cash, so I am not sure if buy buy baby also returns and gives cash back....I was surprised that bed bath gave us that option! We walked out of there with so much cash in our pockets since we had to return items in one state and buy in the other.

I had no problem, they only gave a store credit which was fine since I wanted to get other things on my list and diapers :-)

When we tried to return things at BRU it was a pain in the butt!! Everything has to be on your registry... if it isn't then you have to either have a receipt or know the persons phone number who purchased the item... if none of that applies then they will give you store credit for the item at it's lowest price they've ever sold it at! There is no way to get cash back unless you purchased it, have the receipt and paid with cash. I read a like a week past one bumpie mentioned how she went online before she returned items and added all the gifts that weren't originally on her registry to it then edited them in as purchased... I guess it made her process easier haha! Wish I had thought of that before I went in and got all stressed out!

we havent had an easy time yet with any of our returns to BRU without a gift reciept/reciept so hopefully you have a receipt. Even if its on the reg w/o a reciept they will only give you credit for the lowest price sale it sold for. we were gifted a DSNG and it came broken so when we wanted to exchange it for a non broken one they told us w/o reciept they would give us a credit for the lowest sale price even though they could scan the shipping label and see who bought it and what they paid, they were being so difficult! I didnt back down, theres no way it was right that they sell a damaged item then make us pay extra to replace it with a non damaged item eventually the 3rd person to come over to settle it scanned the shipping label and got all the info he needed so they gave us a credit in that amount but it was hell trying to get to that point. Any other returns with a reciept were not bad but hardly anyone gave us gift reciepts at our shower which drives me nuts, we have so much I'd love to exchange or return and we really loose out with their policy so Im just hanging on to it for now. I must have enough 3mth clothes for 10 babies but I cant do alot about it with bru at this point or Id have to pay more to get a different size. sorry for my rant lol I hope you have better luck than I did!

I had one duplicate from my registry that I returned the other day. We didn't have a gift receipt. It wasn't a problem to return it, and they have us store credit.

I've always had great experiencing returning/exchanging things at BRU. Target - completely different story, ugh.
