Anyone have a magic cure for acne? PLEASE?

Yes I know there have been posts about this in the past, I just dont want to search through many old pages, so dont jump down my throat please Embarrassed

Does anybody have any acne recommendations? I am looking for something I can just grab from the drugstore hopefully and not spend a ton on. My face has cleared up in the last few weeks, but I have pimples all over my chest and I am totally embarrassed.

I would LOVE any suggestions if anything has worked for anybody thank you!!

  • Mine got so bad and hurt sooo bad that I gave ina nd got a Rx that my doctor said was very low risk (and i only use a couple dabs topically...)and that has REALLY helped.  I also have used witch hazel...just put it on a cotton ball and wipe it on the affected area.  Dries it up quickly!

  • Not be pregnant?  Honestly it's all hormonal right now.  :(  Sorry.  My face looks worse than it did when I was a teen!  It's starting to clear up a bit, but I have horrible tiny little pimples all over my forehead.  I hate it. My skin was so great during my last two pregnancies.  I don't get why it sucks this time.

  • I don't have a drug store cure, but I also started getting acne about midway through my first trimester.  I started using Exuvience, which is about 30 dollars a bottle at ULTA.  My skin is totally clear.  It is a little more expensive then what I would have liked, but it will probably last me six months.  I have had the bottle for about six weeks and am only 1/5 of the way through it.  There are two different kinds.  Sensitive skin and regular.  I took the regular, but I would talk with the women there.  They will be able to help.  If you don't have an ULTA near you, (this brings a tear to my eye as it is my number 1 favorite store,)  you can order online from www.ulta.com

  • Thanks girls. I am right now looking into witch hazel which I have never heard of, I know have an excuse for a cheeseburger LOL, and to ULTA I go.

Ill try anything. Except not being pregnant haha. Thanks guys.

  • Try putting some extra virgin olive oil on it. For real it helps! There is a thing some women do called the oil cleansing method and even though I cant get too into that, I've used the oil for the occassional zit and it helps a lot.

I am getting right on that.  I had a sneaking suspicion this was the answer...

  • I started using PanOxyl and it has really helped.  My skins isn't perfect, but I've always had problems.  It has benzoyl peroxide in it but everything I have read says it's safe during pregnancy and you can get it for under $10 at grocery/drug stores.
  • Just went to Ulta site...which one is it?? I definitely want to try.

  • I started using the Neutregena Grape Fruit face wash and it has worked great for me.  I had little cases of acne before pregnancy, but of course, hormones have made it flare up more.  Sacylic acid works best on my face though, benzoil does nothing for it.

My dermatologist told me to use Panoxyl when I visited him while TTC.  He claimed the acne was hormonal and benzol peroxide was the only thing that might help.  Just be careful, it can bleach out your towels.
