So, I've decided that although it looks like LO is coming soon for weeks, she is not.
I'm off work and need something to fill my time.. Stalking all the crocheted newborn hats on Etsy (for $20 a pop!) was very inspring. How hard is it to crochet hats?? I've crocheted a very, very little bit. As in, I made scarves in college because they were just straight lines.
Any good photo or video tutorials anyone knows of? Any tips?
Re: Baby's not coming- I'm going to take up crocheting. Any Advice?
I taught myself to crochet the day before hurricane Irene hit (good thing because we were without power for a long time). I found the video tutorials on Lion Brand yarn's website really helpful. Here's a hat I made:
I found and made lots of free patterns from ravelry.com and https://allicrafts.blogspot.com/p/pattern-index.html I was team green and made tons of hats for both sexes.
Hats are a good next step into crocheting. Many of them are actually crocheted flat and then slip-stitched into hat shape.

Here's the pumpkin hat pattern I used, it starts out flat
Once you get hats down, baby sweaters are next!
my grandma taught me many many years ago. I bought a kit with 5-6 different hooks and directions. I didn't know all the stitches, and wanted more than one hook. I have made pumpkin hats out the yin yang. I have also done wash cloths lately.
Baby hats are next. Tons of free patterns out there.
Love this! So wish I had thought to start learning this sooner! Etsy does have cute ones but I can't bring myself to pay $20+
