I just went to the Dr on monday, and I am scheduled to go every week and a half right now, so my next appt is on the 26th.
have been having tons of pressure and cramps, nothing to be counting though as far as regular contractions, but its concerning me because I feel like I may be farther along than we think and Id like to be kept an eye on by my Dr sooner than my every 10 days.
Is it okay to call my dr and ask her to schedule me an appt for monday so that I see her every 7 days? Or should I just wait till next wednesday to see her?
Re: ok to move dr appt sooner?
Honestly, I'd probably just leave things as is. Thinking you're further along than you are sounds a bit paranoid to me (haven't you had at least two ultrasounds dating this pregnancy??) and I think pressure at this point is normal. Just bring up all of your concerns at your next appt. And as long as there are no contractions, leaking, etc. than I'd try not to worry.
Or if you're really concerned, call and see if you can come in early just this once-- but I wouldn't attempt to alter the remainder of your prenatal schedule just because you think you're further along
the reason I think Im farther along is because I had an ultrasound that dated me two weeks earlier than my due date, but the Drs said the wanted to keep the original due date just in case.
Not only that, but at my last appt I was already dilated and she said she is hoping i make it to my next appt before going into labor because of how flexible my cervix was and the risk of me potentially dilating more, faster, quicker.
she said every time im feeling the pressure and cramps, I am dilating. and the past two days have been nothing but the pressure and cramps
Then I'd call and see what they think, and perhaps they'll have you come in. Just because you're dilated now doesn't really mean anything-- I was dilated at my 36 week appt and had the baby by planned c-section at 39 weeks to NO other signs of labor. But since you are only 35 weeks (and not 37 yet), it does seem weird that they wouldn't take it more seriously at this point.
It can't hurt to call and ask them to see you sooner. You can even ask them to do so just to ease your "hormonal pregnant mind."
I saw my OB an extra time or two to placate the pregnant lady and her nerves.
GL!
Personally I think you're just being paranoid unless your contractions are timeable and you actually think you're in pre-term labor there isn't ANYTHING that they can do at a dr's appt differently on Monday then Wednesday-
How dilated you are doesn't predict going into labor early
experiencing cramps and BH contractions does not mean that you're going into labor early, and your dr is wrong BH contractions CAN lead to further dilation but they can also lead to NO dilation at all.
and unless the u/s was an early u/s around 6-8 weeks that dated you 2 weeks ahead that's the only really accurate time for a dating u/s. Anything after that can be very inaccurate due to the size and position of the baby.
I would just wait. The pressure and cramps are probably from the baby being so low. I get BH all the time and I'm only 1cm dialated and have been for almost 2 weeks now. Like PP said, BH don't cause you to dialate, they are "practice contractions". My Dr always says not to worry unless the contractions are timeable and so painful I can't breathe or walk through them. Even if you do think you are 2 weeks ahead, that only makes you 37 weeks which the Dr will probably do nothing about. My 20 anatomy scan and my 36 week growth scan both have shown my LO to measure 2 weeks ahead, but those don't change my due date or make me farther ahead. It's the first u/s around 8 weeks they go by because it is most accurate.
Unless you have serious concerns I would just wait. Drink lots of water and if things get worse then call.
