Trouble TTC

Migraine sufferers, come in...

So, I have hormonal migraines. The last few, I think I've had a postdrome phase, which I had never experienced before. I am very lethargic, no desire to do anything...almost depressed-feeling.

Anyone get a "postdrome" a few days after a migraine?

  • I am pretty tired for a few days after a bad migraine.  Lots of fluids helps.

  • Hmm... well I have daily migraines. But, the lupron specifically, gave me the worst ones of my life. When I have a very bad one I do sleep for days and get almost depressed feeling. I think its b/c you feel so crappy, and then the medicine makes you feel crappier (even though head hopefully gets better you're all groggy and tummy aches) and for days I'm afraid of doing anything that will bring it back so I do kinda get in a funk. Did you have to take any phenagren or anything like that? Feel better

  • Yes. Estrogen = pain in the arse (well actually head).

I don't feel right for days usually and actually sometimes feel weak in addition to the lethargic.

  • I do, though usually it's just a predrome phase for me. I can feel it coming on for a few hours before it actually begins. The postdrome feels the same to me, but it usually only lasts for a few hours. A few shots of espresso usually drives it away for me ;)

  • Thanks ladies! This sucks! But glad to know that it isn't uncommon.

Pulga - I haven't taken any meds for this one. I am trying not to use Imitrex while TTC, and am also avoiding ibuprofen, so Tylenol is it. The nausea is the worst, but I didn't have any Zofran left, so didn't take anything. The things we suffer with to get pregnant...

I cannot WAIT to get back on birth control. I did not have one.single.migraine while on my pills.

  • Yes - I feel weak, lethargic, spacy, and a little bit dizzy the following day. I vomit a lot with migraines (tmi - sorry), so it is unclear to me how much of my postdrome is just due to dehydration vs. neurological. Kelly - if you don't mind me asking, what bcp do you take? My migraines have always become much more frequent with bcp.

I was on Ortho-Cyclen for 9 years. My body can't take the hormonal shifts being off birth control. I have severe PMS and these icky migraines.
