Thoughts on Messer?

My BFF is 10 weeks and they are throwing around names, she has a DD already so hoping for a DS.

her boy name is Messer - (they got it off the movie Life As We Know It) which I hate and told her I don't like but we are soo close that we tell each other the truth about everything. I told her I will love her child no matter the name and my opinion should not influence her choice. Funny we are very close but have way different tastes.

Messer in the movie isn't even named Messer AND they make fun of the name as part of the plot. It's horrible. Messer sounds like someone dirty and sitting in poop to me. Fitting for a baby? Perhaps. Fitting for a high school aged kid or working adult? Totally not. If this kid grows up to not be like Josh Duhamel and turns out to be a pimply shy nerd, he will go through hell with that name.

That is a truly miserable name.

Not the mention the source... I get name inspiration from great works of literature, etc... but naming your child after a character in a B List Rom Com? Ug. It's just as bad as the Twilight Namers.
