Just got our 4month shots and he's passed out in the car seat sitting next to me...I could leave him in the until he wakes up but anticipating it to be a longer nap.
Move him to his crib...or leave him to finish the nap?
In my experience moving them never goes well- at least not recently. I've resigned to letting M nap on me during the day (aka now) b/c when I try to move her she wakes up and is pissed!!

I would move him. But...I did just read an article about the safety hazards of letting LO's sleep in their car seats and how it should be avoided if possible so thats probably why. If you asked last week I would have said leave him. Helpful huh?
how did you luck out with a sleeping baby? smiley here had hers a few hours ago if that and is now bouncing away in her jumperoo(her feet finally touch)

I say leave him too. If he starts fussing then maybe pick him up to quiet him down and then put put him in the crib. But if he is peaceful in his car seat leave him be.

I cant find the booklet now (I got it in the mail.) But it basically explained how car seats are not made for safe sleeping, especially for extended periods of time due to reports of babies falling into too deep of a sleep and resulting in chin-chest asphyxiation (sp?) and sids. The risk of course is less than injury or death if in a vehicular accident but many manufacturers are changing warnings to include not letting babies sleep in car seats outside of the vehicle if possible, and to wake a baby, take them out to stretch etc after no longer than an hour in a car seat while travelling. It was news to me

DS actually just had his shots yesterday and we dealt with the same thing. We live close enough and it was beautiful yesterday so I took DS in the stroller and we walked to his appointment. On the walk home he passed out hard. When we got home, I left him in the stroller and he slept for a good hour before he started to wake up!
lol well I ended up just leaving him and he woke up after 30minutes...he did look slumped over though out of the car. He was such a little DREAM for his shots, didn't cry a bit!
I think if I would have driven around a little bit more he could have stayed asleep longer but I really intended on sneaking him out into his crib and whimped out when I saw how cozy he was.
thanks for your help ladies!! Good to know about the sleeping in the carseat thing! I have a 7 hour drive over Thanksgiving and 10+ for Christmas...looks like its going to be a long one!
Re: hmmmm move him or leave him?
Leave Him! I leave Bay all the time. She is obviously comfy and cozy and sound asleep. Why try to get her out and disrupt her...
