So we went to church and dinner with the ILs last night for MIL's birthday. It really wasn't so bad. I used changing a diaper as an excuse to wander the halls of the INSANELY huge church instead of listening to the speakers, and we had dinner at The Cheesecake Factory after, FILs treat! WOOhoo!
A few key points- we got MIL some flowers in a small tasteful vase and GAVE IT TO HER at dinner. She thought it was the regular table setting until dessert and was SO shocked that it was hers. WTF? We handed it to you! She's such a ditz.
Oh, and I almost killed H because he let Joshua go to the bathroom by himself. Mad-crazy Mommabear literally busted @ss into the men's room looking for him, to the shock of a couple guys on their way out. And H got an @ass chewing as soon as we got in the car. I am still seething mad. Oh, and we didn't get home til 11, as expected. Thankfully Simon fell asleep in the ring sling around 9:30 and transitioned to the car seat and crib with minimal meltdowns.
Re: dinner last night
Dude, that ring sling is a life saver! I squish him down really tightly so he can't struggle and he falls right asleep!
Joshua's 7. And he's chatty, so if someone started talking to him he'd have no problem giving up his name and age and where he goes to school or whatever. Despite us regularly giving him talks about not doing such things. I had H in tears I was tearing into him so bad. There's no way my little 45 pound scrawny guy could defend himself against an adult if it came to that.
I hope your H never does that again, too many wacko's out there. I took my SS in the womens bathroom until he was at least 8, if there was not family bathroom and it was just the two of us. He was mortified, but I didnt care. People are nuts these days.
Im glad your dinner and evening went smooth. I havent had Cheesecake Factory since I was in Chicago years ago, I dont think we have them around here. I hope it was yummy!
He won't if he knows what's good for him! There's way too many crazies out there. I understand men don't think about those things, but they should!
Well, sorta. I slept from midnight to 1am, but then S got his foot stuck in the crib and screamed bloody murder, so I jumped up all freaked out and couldn't get to sleep til 5am. Then 6am time to get Joshua ready for school, but I came home and slept from 8-11. Such a waste of the day though.
OMG Brittday, you much go there! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Delicious. Kinda pricey though, there's nothing under $14 on the menu, and that's a salad. But the portions are easily enough for 2 full meals so it's ok.
BrittDay- Screw Dundee, we're going to Chicago! ;-)
What's in Chicago? LOL! I obviously missed something!
I don't know why you are coming to Chicago, but please do! When shall I meet you?
Cheesecake Factory is soooo tasy. The closest one to our house is about 2 hours away, so we always try to go there whenever we're vacationing in a big city (like our trip to Atlanta a couple weeks ago
).
Glad the dinner wasn't a hot mess and that the kids we good for you.
