Nutramigen PSA

I don't post often, but I thought I would share this helpful information with those of you using Nutramigen (or similar hypoallergenic formula, I assume). We had to switch my son from breast milk to Nutramigen after months of fussiness and poor weight gain. At our last weight check, my Dr. filled out a form and submitted it to a company that verifies insurance coverage. It turns out that my insurance will cover the formula 100%! This stuff is super expensive, so if you are using it, ask your Dr.!

    whaaaaaat? omg...I wish I had ever even thought of that possibility with my son. that's awesome for you. I'll definitely look into it if this next kid is high maintenance, too ;-)

    This is my 2nd Nutramigen baby, unfortunately, and I wish I had known the first time too! I guess the company that verifies insurance also ships the formula to you, so you don't even have to mess with submitting claims. Awesome!

    I just have a regular BCBS plan through my employer too...
