Would you rather get your hair done in a big Salon full of different stylists or in a more 1 on 1 type of setting where it is just you and your stylist in one room ?[Poll]

I've never been in a place that is 1 on 1, so I don't know how that would be. I kind of like to eavesdrop on salon conversations rather than chat myself

so I kind of like a bigger room with more people.

I don't really have a preference. I've never really gone to someone at a HUGE salon (although what do I know - is your salon considered big?) For me, it's more about the vibe of the salon and the stylist (as well as the price). I like to feel comfortable with the stylist....I don't want to feel like I have to spend the whole time talking but I also don't want it to be awkward. Since I usually have to go in the evenings, most of the salons I've been to have been medium sized but it's usually just me and the stylist because my appts are usually at 6 or 6:30.

It depends on the stylist. I've done all sorts of places and if I don't LOVE the stylist, I don't want to just sit there with that person for an hour and a half while my color processes. I want to not feel akward for wanting to sit and nurse my diet coke and read trashy magazines, especially now that my appointment is the rare time when I'm not at work or at home with my toddler. It's precious to me and I don't want to spend the whole time feeling like I have to entertain someone.

I adore my current stylist though and would love to just sit and chat with him or his wife in his salon for hours. As do many of his customers because most linger and sometimes it's hard to even get a word in.

My stylist works part time from her home, so I get a lot of 1 on 1, which I don't mind at all. It's nice to have that dedicated time without distraction.

I don't care for the large salons (10+ stylists, and trainiees, and hostesses etc). It feels too chaotic & rushed for my taste. Salon time for me is one step away from a spa day, it's supposed to be relaxing.

What I prefer is a smallish salon, 4-6 stylists. Every chance I can get on my gals books at the salon, I take. It's so nice to make an afternoon of it.

I just started going to a gal who shares a studio, that is within a little 'mall' of studios. So you get the feel of a salon but each little studio is privately rented/leased. Its the best of both worlds cause the studio is decorated with my gals on flair and style, you get more one-on-one time and she gets to use her favorite products, but at the same time it still has the professional feel of a salon.

Unless I knew the stylist personally, I don't think I'd like going into someone's home for a 1-1 appt.

I have followed my stylists for over 15 years from big salons to small ones. The atmosphere doesn't bother me. As long as she can cut, color and style my hair the way I asked, I am happy camper!
