We went to a class last night about caring for newborns. When the instructor asked each of us what we can do to soothe a crying baby, one of the other husband's first response was "shake the baby as hard as you can", and he then demonstrated on the doll. Everyone sat there with their jaws dropped and the instructor was a bit shocked. He shook the doll for quite some time!
She took it seriously, and later on when she was talking about people having a hard time dealing with crying babies she looked right at him and told him to count to 100 and get some help. He also asked if they could "declaw" their baby instead of clip their nails. He pointed out that he would rather do that than a circumcision.
This classy man also sat there checking his phone the whole time and making inappropriate comments about possible baby ailments.
What a catch!

My other baby is still a baby! Baby Boy 11-30-11
Completely agree! I haven't done all my prenatal classes yet, but we plan on taking them pretty seriously cuz we would really like to learn what to do and really don't have any interest in some smart @$$ who thinks he is funny wasting everyone's time! If he did it more than once, he would start getting some seriously nasty looks from me!

Excited to welcome a new addition September 2014!
I was just wondering the same thing. If my DH did something like that, I would have told him to get the hell out if he wasn't going to take the class seriously.
sounds like your class has a resident douchecanoe.
If I was the instructor I would pull him aside and ask him to keep his comments to himself since he's distracting others who are paying customers.
