Only sleeps no more than 20 min unless I'm holding him!

How do I get him to nap longer in his crib? He does not do any better in his RNP and has never cared for the swing. He will just take these little 20 min cat naps unless I am holding him and then sometimes he will sleep for 2 hours (usually the 2 hours my DD is napping). I can't get anything done or take a nap!

    This is exactly us. Let me know if you find a solution because I don't have one. DD sleeps up to 3 hours in my arms and 20 min in her playpen or crib during the day. I'm going to try to start transitioning next week and will use Ferber for putting her down since it worked really well for us at night, but as far as I've seen, he doesn't have advice for lengthening naps. I guess at first we'll just have a billion 20 min naps / day. :-(

    You're lucky you get 20 minutes! Lydia naps for no more than 15 minutes. It doesn't matter whether or not I'm holding her, rocking her, laying her down, or if she's in her swing. I have tried it all, nothing works. She's not cranky, so I have been dealing with it. She naps just fine at day care, but not at home.... I can't figure that one out.
