Leapfrog leap pad

Anyone bought this yet?  Saw it at the store as the new hot gift this year but reading reviews on how much all the accessories/apps.  I also thought about getting Nate the Leapster 2 but not sure.

    we don't have it.  i saw it when it was about to come out and it looks awesome.  then i started reading about the app costs, etc also and my interest waned.

    we had planned to get an ipad eventually anyway.  i have one now and we've downloaded lots of learning and fun games for Jax and he LOVES it.  

    I know ipads are a lot more $$$ but that's the way we went (for several other reasons as well, of course)

    Oh that looks awesome, just added it to our Christmas list!  We already have an Explorer, and I was planning to buy another one so the boys could each have one.  But since games work on either one, I think I'll get the LeapPad.
