I'm big on surprises for DH like a random back rub or sexual favor. Sometimes when I get home from work on a Saturday morning I'll stay up for a few hours with the kiddos so he can go do whatever he wants. Less stress for either of us is always a good thing. Or I'll get a babysitter for a Thursday night so we can do a long dinner and just chat and catch up. My Granny is here this week and she told me we have to go out one night alone while she watches the kids. I can't wait. Love her!

We have date nights probably every other week, but we also make time to do silly little things for each other. Like last week was rough for all of us so H went and surprised me with Burger King for breakfast (I have a thing for their french toast sticks--what can I say, I'm a cheap date). A few days earlier I made a homemade pizza in the shape of a heart and put it in the freezer for him. He was on call, so we were pretty much exactly opposite schedule-wise.
Most of our romantic stuff involves food, apparently. lol.
We're both very 'do things means I love you'-oriented, too.
Not sure what this "romance" is that you speak of.
The only thing that goes on in this house is "hurry up and meet me in the bedroom before A wakes up from her nap".
This only replace bedroom with bathroom. Because S sleeps in the bedroom. LOL!
H said he read somewhere about touching your mate 10 times a day. So we do our best to just hug each other, or gently rub his arm, or hold hands for a second, a sweet kiss, everytime we pass by each other. It really is a team effort. Usually when I'm not in the mood for it, H is the one to make the move. And when he's pissy I make sure to put in the extra effort to be the one to give the hug, etc. Hope you guys find your spark again. 18 months is a long time.

We've just tried to keep up with the little things. Like today E and I made him rice crispy treats because he told me a few years ago how much he loved them and I never make them. He came home while we were making them and we all made them together (E really just helped clean off the spatula and look adorable). He'll do little things like today he brought me home a diet pepsi without me asking because he knows that's my favorite part of going away since we stopped buying soda to save money and I LOVE diet pepsi. A few weeks ago I told him I was craving something buffalo and her ordered 30 buffalo tenders from Papa Johns. If he's in the shower while E is sleeping I'll jump in with him for a few minuets or like tonight he was joking around and yelling at me to put his penis in my mouth (those exact words) so I gave him and unexpected BJ.
We also have a standing date every Monday and Wednesday night to watch our shows. If he's working overnight those nights we DVR them and watch them together the next night while pausing them a million times and guessing what comes next. Tonight we watched The Lying Game and spent half an hour laying in bed talking about whats going to happen next and all the different possibilities.

Lots of verbal affirmations, we say I love you all the time. Romance, we don't have time for much of that, and as I transition off breastfeeding my hormones are still regulating, so I am not missing much on my end, but a quickie in the shower keeps H happy.
Re: How do you keep the romance alive?
What is romance? LOL
Seriously, twice a month we get a sitter and go out. That's the extent of our romance.
