I finallly made an adult-sized mei tai! It has two heavy inner layers and two lightweight, decorative outer layers. There's padding in the top for a headrest & padding in the shoulders. I also double-stiched "X" boxes at the shoulder and waist straps, which are all tapered.
Raw material:
Tapered, top-stiched waist straps (which look redish with the flash on):
padded shoulder strap:
padded headrest:
First set of "X" boxes:
And action (hiking at a national park)...
Please forgive my poor example of babywearing. I really should have bounced her up a bit and while tightened the shoulder straps more. Ignore that extra slack around her butt. I'm a wrap momma, not a mei tai momma.
Thanks for lookin'.

Hah hah! That is unclear. It's not a MT for my husband to carry me. I've been making kid-sized mei tais to use with dolls so I used some odd terminology to make a distinction.
Me neither
That's strange. They disappeared.
It's fixed now for me. Love it!
