we used both every single day, for a long time! I jsut helped a friend register and there are now several swings available that have a removable bouncy seat, so two in one! That may be a good option!
we had the graco sweet pea soothign station, the seat was removable, although we didn't really use it that way, a graco carseat could snap in whcih we LOVED, it is a bit pricey tho!

And some convert to highchairs too, which is nice. But we used bouncy seats a lot more often - they were easier to put a baby into, we could bottle feed in it, etc.

First two babies were swing babies and barely sat in the bouncer. This one so far hates both and does not stay in them longer than 2 minutes before screaming, waking up, etc.
My sister's kids loved the bouncer and hated the swing. My other sister's kids liked both equally.
In summary, it depends on the kid. Have you considered the 2-in-1 versions, so you get both in one piece of equipment?
I registered for a two in one model. Im not sure which one, just one at BRU. My daughter was a swing baby and she enjoyed it greatly. I just feel like i would be able to get more down with a swing rather than having to sit next to a bouncy seat and bounce it.
I think im going to look more into the 2in1's. Thanks again!

My son hated the swing and would tolerate the bouncer although not for long. If you have room for only one I would say bouncer because it's easier to transport - or get a small swing. I used to put DS in the bouncer on the floor of my bathroom while I showered, got ready, etc. so that was nice and easy to take from room to room.

I never once bounced our son! Ours vibrated and that was enough for him it was especially Helpful to take in the bathroom outside and to other rooms with me!

We picked one of the other as well, and we went with a bouncer. Couple of reasons, one, heck of a lot cheaper (remember, they don't use this stuff for that long) two, swings take up a lot of space and we didn't have the room, three, sometimes babies don't like swings and then you are stuck with a $100+ thing taking up a bunch of space. Four, you can move the bouncer anywhere you need it. I use is EVERY SINGLE DAY. LO can cook with me in the kitchen, sit in it while I shower, sit in it while we eat, sit in it when you need a place to put them down for two seconds while you do something else, like pee or put on your coat.
I have more than gotten my money's worth out of the bouncer. Oh...and she can nap in it.
Totally depends on the baby. We had both - DS hated the bouncy and the swing was a must since he had horrible acid reflux - we would sit him in for 20-30 minutes after feedings.

if only one or the other- I'd choose bouncy seat for the simple fact that it's more mobile throughout the house. You can take it from room to room easier.
Love the swing...we keep it in the living room (we have an open layout) and get a ton of use out of it during the day. The other must for us is the Rock n' play, she sleeps in that, and it can be carried room to room.. have a bouncer, so far, she isnt a big fan of it
Re: Your opinion.. Swing .VS. Bouncy Seat
