Daycare/Preschool options near Rittenhouse

I'll be moving to Philadelphia and living near Rittenhouse Square next month. I don't know many people with kids in the city and am looking for recommendations for part-time daycare or preschool. I'm flexible on days/times. My son just turned 2. Any recommendations or places to stay away from? Thanks!

Re: Daycare/Preschool options near Rittenhouse

  • We used to live near 22nd and South St, and we sent our son to My Bright Beginnings at 18th and South. We were really, really happy there when he was in the infant room. We have since moved to Ardmore, so we're at a school out there.

We originally had DS at Apple Blossom - we didn't like it there. It looked like the older kids' classrooms were so unorganized and kids were always running wild.

If we decided to stay in center city, we would have tried to get him into Formative Years which is on Lombard near 21st. I've heard a LOT of great things about them. They start at 2 years old.

ETA: Ther'es also a church on Lombard...Trinity?? that's supposed to be good. Also, the Kindercare at 18th and Market gets good reviews.

  • We send our daughter 3 days per week to Kindercare at 17th and Market.  We really like her teachers and love their open door policy.
