in home daycares in center city/graduate hosptial area?

Hi everyone,

In the great search for daycare, I thought I'd see if anyone has had any positive experiences with any in-home daycares in center city/grad hospital area?  I'm on the list for a couple of centers already, but thought I could explore this option if anyone has had a great experience.

thanks!

  • I don't have any in-home recommendations, but we used to live in Grad. Hosp. and we LOVED My Bright Beginnings. Rina (the director) is great, and so are the infant room teachers. We moved a few months ago and the teachers cried when we left.

We were previously at Apple Blossom. It was ok --- DS ate/napped just fine, but I wasn't thrilled with the director (she was always scatter-brained).

  • thanks.  we're on the wait list at apple blossom and MBB.  We like MBB, but they have expanded and may have 30 infants at a time!  I know they will keep their staffing ratios, but it seems like a LOT of babies to me.  As long as they have the space, our plan for now is to enroll there.  We have a friend with a son at apple blossom and they are happy there, but i get the same feeling about the director there.  I think either will be fine, but if there is a great (and maybe cheaper) in home place around, i don't want to count it out.

  • I am also researching daycares. I've heard horror stories about Apple Blossoms though. An infant died there about a month ago (not sure what happened, but definitely alarming). And I spoke with a parent who's daughter (also an infant) had a leg fracture that happened during the day and they never notified him- only told him that she seemed to be in pain when he picked her up that evening. It was horrible. Just thought I'd share what I've heard. Good luck with your search.
