DD is half FF half BF- we've used the Medela bottles from the beginning, but lately I'm noticing that she sucks so hard she clamps down on the nipple and I have to take it out of her mouth several times during a feeding so it pop up again. Just tried Playtex drop ins- but it took her forever to finish the feeding because I used the slow flow nipple. Is it ok to switch to a medium flow nipple even though DD is still nursing? Or will she start to reject the breast? I'm honestly not even really sure I like the drop ins anyway- I know it's less to clean up but it seems like a pain to always have to buy the liners. So my questions- is a medium flow nipple ok at 3 months even though she's still nursing and recommend your bottle! Thanks!

Re: Recommend your brand of bottles!
we use drop ins and we love them. we buy the big pack of lines (100 count) and she has 5 bottles a day, so 1 box lasts us 20 days. it would last you even longer. i'm sure you buy diapers more often than that, so just add it to the list.
we use the medium flow nipple, but are totally FF, so I'm no help with the nursing/nipple flow question.
FWIW, we also tried dr browns at first, but they didn't agree with her.
DS1 did the drop-ins when he was breastfed and bottle fed. I think we did slow and medium flow--can't recall. For DS2 the plan was to do both as well and he did the best with NUK. My pedi recommends those for those who BF and Bottle. They've worked quite well.

Notes:
I think you're supposed to switch to medium flow at about 3 months regardless of whether or not you're breastfeeding or formula feeding because of exactly what you've mentioned--they have to suck so hard from a slow-flow nipple to get what they need that it can make them gassy/frustrated.
That said, I heavily recommend Dr. Brown's bottles! It was taking my baby an hour to take 4 ounces from Playtex Drop-ins, and only 15 minutes from all other bottles. She was BY FAR the least gassy using Dr. Brown's to the point where I started to was and re-wash my one Dr. Brown's bottle instead of using any of the other already clean ones.
We've increased the nipple flow every time he's started sucking it closed like with a too-thick milkshake.
He wasn't ready for what is officially the 3-month nipple until 4.5 months (we use Avent).
We did try the 3-month actually at 3 months and he just dribbled everywhere, so it can be pretty clear when they're ready. He was 'late' with their 1 month nipple too.
No idea how it fits in to breastfeeding, however.
