Seems crazy to me??

Re: would you pay $60 per ticket for a kids show?

  • Nah. I wouldn't, but I'm cheap.

There isn't one thing that LO is gaga over, so it wouldn't be that big of a deal. We get enough shows in town in the 15 dollar range so we'll go to those.

  • We did for YGG in November.  Yes, crazy, but I wanted to do it for the girls.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • What shows are $15?  I haven't seen any like that....

We took DS1 to movers last year and he loved it but not sure if we are going to go again, DS2 will only be about 18 months so still kind of young.

This!  Though we will be seeing the Nutcracker for the second time together, but that's something I love too. :)

The ice shows and Disney on Ice are about that price range here.

  • I just paid close to that for Disney on Ice tickets. It was more for myself than DD, I hate sitting in crappy far away seats. DD loved the show and I was happy with my seat so it was worth it to me.

  • not at this point...maaaaaaybe when he's a bit older and is completely obsessed with something...but I doubt it.  We just saw YGG because of a Groupon :)
  • If it was something they loved, then yes.

Ditto.  :) ...but then I'm more apt to spend more on the kids and just not go to a concert that I wanted to see instead.

  • Absolutely not. But my DH is a theater critic. If we wanted to take LO to anything when she is older we would only go to things were the tickets were comped. That means lots of fantastic local theater (which by the way is way better and less expensive), but no Disney on Ice or whatever touring tv show thing.

  • We did for Disney on Ice when we sat front row

and we are doing it for the Disney Live for 4th row.

Basically, I am willing to pay the price if I can get DD close enough that she can actually SEE/interact with the characters (On Disney on Ice the all waved to her when she would say HI woody... Hi Jessie... and that alone was priceless)

I am not willing to pay that kid of money if were in a 200 section where we can barely see and using jumbotrons to see what the characters are doing....

To get closeup seats there is presales, if you dont have the PW you can buy them for like $5 on presale password websites. :)

  • Not at this age. Probably not until they are much, much older.
  • we paid more than that for YGG last year at Radio City - and we got the cheapest tickets... around here it's not uncommon for kid's shows to cost that much.

Though- at our local theatre we can go to shows for $15... but if you want something big (like YGG) you pay $$$.

I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.

  • Yep. We don't go to shows/plays ourselves anymore and used to spend at least that for good seats multiple times a year, so I don't mind spending more to take him to Gabba or Toy Story things a couple times a year and get good seats.

  • No way Jose.   I can't see spending $60 each ticket and then having to wonder if Nicholas would even stay still.   It's pretty safe to say that he wouldn't.   Of course I don't have to worry, cause shows (like YGG and Movers and Barney) never come to my neck of the woods.

  • Have done it but only after winning a Super Bowl pool. We paid $150 per VIP tickets to see Thomas. It was fabulous!!!! And my DS LOVED IT!!!

I usually try to get the cheaper tickets when I get emails from ticket master and such. But even when they say there are $15 tickets after all of the fees they usually end up being $30-it's soooo annoying!

If it's a show that your LO will enjoy I say what the heck? You only live once right? But always check for online promotional codes before you check out!

If it's front row/aisle seats I usually pay the extra prices.

  • Yes, we paid $75 per ticket for YGG in December.  I know DS will LOVE it and we will enjoy it just as much :)
