The belly rubbing...

OK, so I knew once I really started looking pregnant, people would want to rub my belly, but I expected it to be a quick rub, right across the front.

Um, no.

I've had a few coworkers rub my belly like it's a crystal ball!  I am OK with the coworkers (for now, anyway), and thankfully I haven't had perfect strangers try it on me yet - I won't be so nice with them.

Re: The belly rubbing...

  • Ugh, I hear you! I really don't mind it when DH, my mom, or my sister rub my belly, but beyond that it makes me so uncomfortable. I hate it when people from work rub my belly. That's one thing I won't miss about being pregnant.

  • Oh I didn't like anyone rubbing my belly.  My mom overstepped this boundary on a few occasions.  I'm sure you are thinking but it's your mom, but like 5 minutes is way to long for anyone other than my DH or myself.
  • A few of my co-workers would always rub my belly like that.  Like you, it didn't bother me when they did it (too much anyway).  No strangers ever tried to rub my belly, thank God.  Wait until your baby is here  and strangers try to touch him/her.  That drives me nuts!!!!!!
  • That drove me nuts too.  I didn't mind my sister or my niece holding their hand there to feel kicking, but anyone else... back off!
  • It gets worse - just wait until strangers are touching the baby's hands and face!
