When can LO have a blanket in her crib? How about those little stuffed heads on a small blanket? I think DD would like to snuggle with something! She'll be 6 months on 10-27.

I believe the blanket "rule" is a year, however, a friend of mine started putting a blanket with 10 month old, it is a small (no bigger than a recieving blanket) afgan (The real "holy" kind/ like you can see thru it). We have one of those small stuffed head blankets that DS plays with, but he has nothing in his crib. So, I guess I'm not much help... Sorry...
i love DS's sleep sack and he has nothing else in his crib. i don't think he'd care if he had anything in his crib at night anyway. he isn't really into blankets or cuddly stuff...he likes his hard plastic rings and stuff like that.
not sure if there's a rule...but i would wait a bit longer for DS if i was going to
I think to some extent, it depends on the baby and how advanced they are. If they can move around and have good dexterity, you can probably put the blanket in there. I think that's why most books say 1 year because, at that point, most LOs can move around well and have good dexterity so they'd know to move a blanket off their face if it was blocking air flow. However, I will admit that I have a blanket in LO's crib. He is still swaddled, not even CLOSE to rolling, and I tuck it under the mattress and keep it below where his armpits are so that he can stay warm (we live in Seattle) and not have any chance of suffocation since it's well below his face. Although, I'm sure I'll come back to this post later with some flames...
