Heart Of Lancaster

Has anyone delivered at Heart of Lancaster?  Please let me know your experience.

Re: Heart Of Lancaster

  • after searching for an OB, I did check out the hospitol reviews, and so far have not found anything too good about Heart of Lancaster, but I did deliver my second daughter at Womens and Babies, and I loved it, they were wonderful, as well as the May Grant OB practice, which works out of the womens and babies office, and has other offices.

  • Thank you.  I delivered my youngest son at W&B but I was not very happy with the staff there.  I am researching new options and thought I would check out heart and possibly Hershey.
  • I had a good experience with Womens and Babies, but I might have had different nurses, lol, this time I will br delivering at Hershey, I have heard they have the best NICU in the area which hopefully we wont need, but good to know, I know a lot of babies are life flighted there, and the whole building is redone. They have their very own like childrens hospitol inside. I am going to see it on Monday for my first ultrasound, the whole 3rd floor is maternity'

  • What doctor are you using?  I was going to ask about Hershey as well.
  • I go to Penn State Hershey Group Etown, they have a few different offices around, My Dr, is Dr. George Henning, a very old man, lol, but very gentle and nice, I met him the first time last week, he is the only OB in the practice, and he works there only once a week, and is in other offices the rest of the time, I went to Hershey for my Ultrasound Monday and loved my U?S tech. I think Hershey has an office in the hospitol you can actually go there for your appointments, but depending on where you're located, I can get you info on offices

  • I delivered my twins at HOL and I LOVED the place.  I thought the nurses were great.  The only thing that I didn't like was that they don't have a nursery, so they don't take the babies at night.  It wasn't a big deal to me.

Hi childbirth class buddy!  I can't believe how big those boys are getting, well I should since DS is getting bigger each day.

OP: I'm tardy to the party, so you may have already made a decision. I must agree, I absolutely LOVED HOL as well.  The nurses were great.  We didn't mind the no nursery since we wanted him with us.  I had a c/s on Monday and they had asked me when I wanted discharged, the doctor wrote the orders for discharge on Thursday but they gave me the option of discharging Thursday, Friday, or Saturday.  It definitely wasn't rushed like I hear of so much at Women's and Babies.  I should also say that my experience was so great with HOL that I will be delivering there again.
