Newborn Photography?

Are any of you ladies thinking about doing newborn photography photos with/of your LO?

If so, are you going to take them at home, go to a "big" photo studio (JC Penny's, Sears, The Picture People, etc), go to an individual professional photographer, or something else?

We will use a professional photographer, she will come to our home and do them when she is about 4 days. She will also be in the hospital the day she is born so that she can capture Daddy and his baby girl, while I recover from my c/s and miss that whole part

Our hosp. has a professional photography place come on day 2 and take the pics. Since I know this now after having #1, I am definitely planning on trying to look pretty so I can be in some too. I love the one's we have from our first born and glad we didn't have to take him anywhere.

We did JCP pics for 3, 6, 9, and 12 month pics and I recommend them too.

Our hospital does the pics also, and they will allow mom and dad to be in them however its only going to be the LO in them... Then when hes about a week or so old, hopefully i will be feeling up to par from a c-section to go get our family photos done with "our photographer". I have seen lots of them done at JCP and they look great to!

Our hospital also has a professional come in on Day #2, so we'll do some photos then. Once the baby is home, we'll have a professional come here and take pictures. She took pictures for 2 of my close friends and their babies and she's amazing!

My uncle is a photographer, so I think he might be offended if I didn't use him

But he does take great pictures, so I am happy to use him!

We use a professional photographer. She came to our house with DD, and she just used things around her nursery for props, etc. She used a pretty baby blanket we had and stretched it up the back of a chair for a backdrop. Worked out great! For studios, I have seen JCPenny's do nice shots.

We will have a photographer come take photos in our house that first week (we did the same with DD). We love our photographer, and she's really reasonable. With DD, I did a couple of the monthly shoots at JCP, and they did a nice job, but I always want the cd of pics, and buy the time I purchase that, even with coupons, I am paying close to or more than I would have paid the photographer (for fewer pics, to boot). This time around I've purchased a "grow with me" plan so I'll just have the photographer take the 3, 6, 9 month and one year photos too.

we already talked to the lady who is doing ours. She is a private studio. We might do a store like Jc or sears when we do the 6 months etc but not sure yet.

Awesome!! Thank you so much. I'm definitely digging her portfolio; she's got a lot of lovely and precious shots there.

She doesn't seem to list her prices for newborn session on the website, though; do you mind if I ask how much she charges? (I'm assuming it's comparable to her engagement sessions or boudoir pics in terms of time/cost/number of photos?)

Erin's site looks fabulous, but she's about 2.5hrs south of me, and her site doesn't seem to indicate that she travels. :-/
