Tops Meal Deal of the Week

if you buy a jenny o turkey breast in a bag for $11.99 you get tops stuffing, country crock potatoes, 1 tops frozen veggie, a 2 liter of gingerale or dr pepper and a cake mix for free,  It's an awesome deal.

Just with the bonus card I saved $52 today.  I have never done that good before.

Re: Tops Meal Deal of the Week

  • I saw that in the ad yesterday! I'm not a huge fan of tops but sometimes they have deals that are too good to pass up.

  • I think I am going to be doing Thanksgiving for DH's parents and brother and grandma, but not the other BIL and his family since they moved kinda far away.  So that size turkey might be perfect for that along with a pork option since FIL doesn't eat turkey and DH doesn't really like it either.

Here's the thing with Tops though that I don't like.  It tells me I saved x amount of money which makes me feel great, but then a lot of times their sale price is the same as walmart's price.  So I could spend the same, but the bottom of the receipt makes it look like I saved more.  I do like that Tops doubles coupons though.

  • yeah, that deal might be decent. But typically when they have those "meal deals" they jack up the price of whatever you buy. I'm not sure what the price of the jennie-o turkey breast usually is, but I know a couple weeks ago when they had the ground beef meal deal they marked the club pack of 80% lean beef to 3.99/lb. Normally it's only $2.49... and at Wegmans it's only $1.99.

For me, it's not a deal... I would never use any of the extras they give you for free, besides the frozen veggies. I bet I could even make the entire meal from scratch for cheaper (and less sodium/preservatives!) I actually almost picked up a split turkey breast for dinner tonight (DH decided he wanted porkchops instead) and the breasts were about $6 at Wegmans.
