Closest place to pick apples?

I'd really love to take the girls apple picking next weekend, but I doubt that Abby will make it that long in the car. Does anyone know of the closest "pick-your-own" apple place? Closer than Blue Ridge, if possible.

We went to BJ Reece apple house in Ellijay a few weeks ago and had a nice time. It's apple festival time in Ellijay so I would recommend getting up there early. This website is great for finding different farms and such.

We went to BJ Reece today (Ellijay), and it was nice. Hillcrest is across the street as well. Not exactly close for most in Atlanta though, but we only live about 40 minutes out since we live in north Cumming. Definitely go early, when we were leaving around 1:30 traffic was backed up for miles to get to both places (Burt's Pumpkin Farm and Amicalola Farms are also nearby).

Thanks ladies! I have heard of Hillcrest before, but not BJ Reece. I think we may be going there instead! Looks a little more "low key" and doesn't cost admission. Thanks!

We went to Hillcrest 2 weeks ago and enjoyed it. My only complaint is they only have 1 "real" bathroom inside (the line was outrageous & I had to plunge the toilet to get it to flush) and then 6 or 7 porta potties outside. That and the horse droppings out in the orchards. Other than that, we had a great time.
