Measuring ahead question...24 wk appt

Hi ladies!

Went to my 24 week appt and I've gained 11 lbs since the beginning of this pregnancy. 8 lbs in a month. Wow.....lets just say I'm being more active in my exercise and diet choices now....

Also, OB said I'm measuring at 28 weeks! I'm only 24w4d! Do I need to worry? She didn't change my EDD.

And the glucose drink wasn't THAT bad! The worst part was a bit of burning in my throat from drinking it so fast!

  • Glad everything went well! I was dreading the glucola!

  • Wow, that is a whole month ahead! I would definitely want to talk to my OB if I heard that. It sounds like something is off...

  • I wouldn't worry--those measurements (and baby's size estimates) can be notoriously off. DD measured ahead throughout my entire pregnancy and she was a week late.

    Huh?

Anyway, I wouldn't worry unless your OB is worrying. Your baby could measure big the rest of the time and still come on time or even late.

I think Snowy was referring to my post from last night...

I didn't think it was too bad since she didnt really say anything other than "wow!"

  • wow a whole month ahead! i wouldn't worry too much...the later you are the harder it is to get accurate dates... just be prepared for a 9+ pound baby ;)

This! They told me my 6lb baby was going to be 9lb.

  • Usually those measurements are + or - a few days. For example at our last appointment (at 18w 3d) baby's head was measuring at 17w +or - 12 days.
