It's officially time for a big girl bed

For the first time last night, DD jumped out of the crib. She was having a total temper tantrum because she didn't want to go to sleep, and was screaming like a banshee, throwing everything out of her crib, throwing the books she could reach onto the floor, generally being crazy. Next thing I saw in the video camera she was going down the other side of the railing! I'm still not sure how she did it! She was crying when we came running, but I think it was a continuation of her ongoing tantrum as opposed to having hurt herself. It was so terrifying for me to see, though!

I had already been planning on buying a bed this weekend and starting the transition, and this validated that decision!

  • DS has started jumping in his crib, so I think we may be headed there as well. GL and let me know how it goes!

  • that must have been so scary to see! This is one of many reasons I love video monitors!

DS (16mo) loves climbing onto DD's bed and then walking around it. I fear that he will soon attempt to climb out of the crib and I am so not ready for that!

  • Good luck - remember it takes time to transition!
Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.
  • Good Luck!  We are in week 3 of the transisition.  While there have been some bumps in the road it is getting easier.  Nap times were the worst.  The other issue is his wake up times were REALLY early (5:00am) but they are finally going back to normal :)
