October 15 is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

I'm sure some of you already know, but for those who don't...Tomorrow, October 15 is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day is a day of remembrance for pregnancy loss and infant death which includes but is not limited to miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, or the death of a newborn.

If you are interested, there are events happening all over the place throughout the day including remembrance ceremonies, vigils, and celebrations.

In the evening, there will be an International Wave of Light.  You can participate by lighting a candle at 7:00pm wherever you are.

I'll be lighting my 5 (FIVE?!?!) candles, and will be thinking about all the other angels who are with mine.  I hope you'll join me.

  • I'll be thinking of you and your 5 angels.  Do you know if there are any events taking place in Sacramento?  I'll also be lighting a candle for my little angel taken too soon from us :(
  • I'll join you in lighting a candle, and thinking of your losses as well as other people I know who have an angel or angels.

I just posted this on FB:

A person that loses a partner is called a Widow. A child who loses a parent is called an Orphan. But there is no word to describe a parent that loses a child, because the loss is like no other. So will you put this as your status for just 1 hour?? I'm pretty sure I know the ones that will. Think of someone you know or love who has lost a baby or a child, and take a few minutes to remember & honour their beautiful angels. ?

  • I'm sorry that it's on my anniversary.  I'll participate in spirit.  It was my day before it was the loss day. :( (Yeah - I'm snarky like this today.)

Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.
