Northern California Babies

disneyland help please!

i just found super cheap tickets on southwest for 49 one way so i booked a trip in january to take the kids.

a few questions for those that are pros at this:

1) where is the cheapest place to buy disneyland tickets. we will either get a 2 or 3 day pass. i get discounts through my work, but wonder if there is somewhere cheaper out there.

2) have you stayed at the disneyland hotel or the disneys paradise pier hotel? i would love to stay at the california adventure (my parents took my son there last oct and stayed there and LOVED it!) but its kinda pricey. if you've stayed at the other two, were they nice? did you like it?

any other tips/advice?

thanks!!

  • Cheapest tickets we found: https://www.contracostafcu.org/home/memberDiscounts.htm

As for hotels Disneyland is nice. Dh and I have stayed there and had nothing but nice things to say. I haven't stayed at the Paradise.

ETA: where did you find them for 49? We are going in Febuary and I don't see them that cheap.

  • thanks for link! my discount through work is a little better than that - so i'll prob go that route.

we are flying out on a sat and coming back on a monday and they were 49 out of san jose and going into LAX. good luck!

  • I like the disneyhotel better then there paradise pier one.  I find that one not really as nice or themed.  I have stayed in both.

  • The cheapest tickets I found are for military - when we went with my grandpa, he bought the tickets at the base and we saved something like $40 per ticket (we bought 3-day passes).  Not sure if you are going with anyone in the military, but I thought I'd throw that out there.

I haven't stayed at any of the Disneyland hotels, so I can't answer your other question.  I know people who have stayed at both and were happy with them.  Have fun - I love Disneyland!

  • For discount tickets, check out this webpage: https://www.mousesavers.com/dltickets.html

We use that every time we go, because the prices have (so far) always been better than anything else that we've looked at. We have purchased multiple times through aRes Travel (rec'd on that page), and have always had a good experience. You just pick up your tickets (bring the printed voucher) at the ticket booths at the park.

  • About 6 years ago I bought 3-day hopper passes on Ebay. It so happened that it was legit and a really great deal. So I guess you could take your chances on trying to get tickets online.

I do love the California Adventure hotel but it is pricey. I've stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and unfortunately I don't remember the price but it was very nice as well. I love that they are right there next to the park and Downtown Disney. I think if you try to stay during the week, it is always cheeper.

  • We are getting our tickets through my cousin's teachers union (SoCal) so I dunno if you have checked with friends who are union members, though I think it is more common to see great america up here and disneyland in socal.

We are staying at the Disneyland Hotel when we go in December, I have not yet stayed but I do know they are under some construction, so keep that in mind if you book.  That said, all the rooms they are putting people in are brand new remodels, so they look incredible!
