Isabeau - yes or no (poll)

Isabel is too close to Isabella which is too popular right now for my taste. I've always loved the medieval version - Isabeau. I am think about using it with my mother's name as a middle name: Isabeau Diane. Last name starts with a B. May call her "Beau" or "Izzy" as a nickname.

no no no. Beau is a dog's name IMO. And it's an obvious play on Isabel/Isabella which makes it worse than just using Isabel or Isabella.

I just think it sounds created,and the name it is derived from is just NMS either.I agree with ames17's suggestion of Isadora,that is a beautiful one!

I went to high school with an Isabeau. It can totally work! I think it's a great name.

I like it and think it would work fine. I think there was a contestant on Biggest Loser (or some other reality game show). I first heard it on TV anyway.

This is when I first heard it and I have hated this name with a passion ever since. All I can think is, she "is a beau". It's just all kinds of wrong.

Lol, this! And Beau is a boy's name. I really like the suggestions of Isolde or Isadora. I prefer the nickname Belle/Bella though (I will hate Twilight forever because this was DH's and mine's #1 name years before the book came out) but if you like Izzy then those other names are good options.

Well... it's a legit name. (I personally don't care if people say "it sounds made up" because, well, they're wrong.) Is it my favorite? No. Do I like that it's more unique than Isabell(e/a)? Yes. It's your child. I do think Isolde is an interesting (and also medieval) choice.
