We didn't do that, but when I was getting married I had the seamstress take apart my aunt and mom's veil (they both used it) so that I had the veil part on a comb and she turned the headpiece into a baptismal head piece that now my dd and cousin's kids have all used.

Thanks! I absolutely love it! Chelsea was 7 months old when we had her baptism, and Molly was only 3 months, so we added a second row of buttons to the back, too. I love knowing that it will become a family heirloom that hopefully my grandchildren will wear someday! Way better than keeping my dress shoved in a box in the basement!
