i bought 2 identical potties. The babybjorn small potty. It is one piece of plastic - so pee can't hide in the crevices and smell. One for the house and one for the van. They are small and easy for little ones to get up and off, we have packed one for trips out of town, no bells and whistles to distract from the mission.
We have this one from Baby Bjorn. For awhile our little girl wasn't crazy about the front portion that comes up and insisted that we turn it around so it was in the back (not sure how that was more comfortable but to her it was, I guess she had bumped against the front portion when trying to sit down and decided she didn't like it). Now she sits on it the regular way. I wish they had a "girl" option for potty chairs without the front portion going up, since I guess that's mainly for boys?
We bought the cheap one from BRU (here) it was $15 and I loved that it was totally convertible - it could be on the ground as a set or the top came off to sit on the toilet so she could go there.
She didn't use it very long and now sits (like a big girl) on the toilet.
We have three for the twins and love them, baby bjorn and prince lionheart potty pods. I like the PL ones (green and blue ones) because they are soft and comfy, the blue one goes on the toilet. The green one also has a piece that comes off for the girls (not shown in the picture).
