I went home for lunch today and DH is off. I called him earlier today to see what he was doing. First, we talked about dinner - I said I was thinking about having pot roast. He made beef stew. He says they are the same thing. I then proceed to ask him if he thinks the chuck steak he is making is going to be big enough. He sounds puzzled, but answers of course it would be big enough. When I went home for lunch, he had made my lunch and I started folding some laundry. I then mentioned that I didn't know what time "they" were coming over. He looks at me like I've just told him I want to go canoeing in Alaska. The following conversation ensues:
Me: "Tim and Kristin and Andrew are coming over, but I didn't have a time."
DH: "When are they coming over?"
Me: "That is what I am saying, I don't know what time."
DH: "yea but what day?"
Me: (looks at DH like he has said he wants to take a trip to Mars tomorrow) TODAY. That is why I asked if the chuck steak was going to be enough. Because it is for all of us. They are coming for dinner tonight.
DH: Oh, I was wondering why you didn't think this big steak would be enough for the 3 of us. Especially when one of us is a baby. So wait - what time are they coming?
Me: ::facepalm::
So now he is running to Wegmans to figure out what to serve our friends who are coming over to dinner in approx 3 hours (I think, I am not sure because we still didn't say a time).
