Finally called EI for Brianna :-(

I have been putting this off for a while, but I think it was finally time.  Brianna's language progression came to a hault about 6-8 months ago.  If anything, she has regressed.  She has odd word substitutions, lacks any sentence structure, pronounces only the ends of most words over 2 syllables, incorrectly produces an S sound through her nose (learned from Tyler, I think).  Her language is totally different from Tyler's at the age, with the exception of the S sound.  I doubt she will qualify, I am certain she will fall within 1 std below normal but probably not the 2std that is required for services.  And she has no other delays outside of recent behavior stuff.  So, here we go.  Again.

    I'm sorry you're dealing with this again, but at least you know how much those services can help!

    I'm sorry you have to do this again, and I'm sorry that you don't think that she will qualify to get the help you (both) need. But at least this time, you have such a big head start over other parents who might just be starting and learning this process - hopefully your experiences with Tyler will help make this time easier...

    Aww :(  Hopefully even if she doesn't qualify, they are able to give you some good tips and tricks at the evaluation.

    So sorry you are facing this again, but like all the pp's said if it is something then you know how much they'll help her. On the flip side maybe it's nothing and you'll find that out too. Hang in there and keep us posted!

    I'm sorry you have to go through the process again. At least this time you'll know which questions to ask, and you can navigate through the system a little easier. If nothing else, I hope you get some good suggestions on how to work with B. Good luck.
