Re: very early in pregnancy

  • I had pretty severe cramping between 4 and 5 weeks.  Constipation is very common throughout pregnancy as well which can cause cramping.

  • I wouldn't worry unless you have bleeding.

  • I definitely had a lot of crampy pains in the first trimester. I wouldn't worry too much about it if you're not bleeding!

  • I had cramps the couple days before I found out I was pregnant, and then lasted for a couple weeks after, and my baby is fine! Smile
  • I had cramps all through the 1st tri. I was sure I would start AF any minute!

I wouldn't worry unless you start bleeding! :)

  • Just wanted to add too that as far as bleeding goes - if its a brownish color its not really a big deal - the main concern for bleeding is when it red.

  • like pp's said- it is completely normal to cramp as long as you are not in severe pain and are not bleeding red.

i still cramp (although now I think it is mostly constipation- but since that seems to be a constant state, it is hard to tell)

    good luck!

also as long as it doesn't have any dark red clumps or clots. but if it's spotting that's normal too. i had a problem with this too and my doctor said that if it got any worse or the pain became more constant then to come back and they would do an examination. but everything should be fine. sounds normal to me.

  • oh and it could also be gas! isn't pregnancy fun? Confused try eating some dark leafy greens and drink alot of fluids. that sometimes helps with the constipation. and i think i've also heard of a prenatal vitamin with a stool softener added in it. you could try that if it gets too unbearable.
  • Ok, so I spent basically the last week pouring over every article I could find to make me believe I was ok! I had the exact same thing!

The day before we found out about Baby, I was SURE AF was speeding down the track. I was in so much pain! The AF like cramps continued all week but gradually subsided all day. I figured out that usually when I had a cramp like that, I had gas or had to take a poo. Gross, but this is pregnancy, right?

Now that I've known that I'm preg for 2 weeks, the cramps are pretty much 100% gone, as is the constipation!

My best advice to you is this: heed the prior advice about bleeding and such. If you feel a cramp like that, stand up and stretch (mine would come as i sat at my desk at work), then just try to relax. And then maybe find a good mag and head to the ladies' room and see if that helps. Good luck!
