Violet was my grandmother's first name, and I'd really like to use it for a MN when/if we have a girl. I wouldn't use it as a first name because I have a cousin named for my grandmother with Violet as her FN, so I think it would be a little much. My question is, how do YOU pronounce Violet? I have heard it:
VI-let
VI-o-let
VA-let (I'm pretty sure this is just the result of a regional accent)
Just curious!
Re: s/o Violet
Vye-oh-let.
The pronunciation is probably going to be regional though. I have southern friends that would probably say "vah-let".
Vye-ah-lit. Not a strong O sound in the middle but not just 2 syllable Vi-let either.
mm 2/17/11 * dd born 4/20/12 * bo 1/3/14 * edd 1/21/ 1/15
VI-uh-let .... though, if I'm saying it in a sentence, it seems that I say it quicker and drop the middle syllable and say it VI-let.
Either way, I love it.
I just want to give you a world as beautiful as you are to me.
Yep.
